La Force is a very small, peaceful Malepere historic circular village dating back to 600ad. It is situated between Montreal and Fanjeaux, just 19 kms from Carcassonne, in the heart of Cathar Country on the official pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela.
The area is featured in Dan Brown's 'The Da Vinci Code' and, particularly, in Kate Mosse's 'Labyrinth'.
